The Kansas City Star
- Covers all aspects of Kansas athletics, primarily focusing
on football and men's basketball.
- Wrote story on Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie's immediate success
in recruiting against friend and KU coach Bill Self, which was
picked up by papers nationally, including the Lexington (Ky.) Herald-Leader.
- Promoted in Feb. 2007 after almost two years as a high school
enterprise reporter.

The Kansas City Star
- Writes high school enterprise stories, as well as general
assignment takeouts on Chiefs, Royals and national stories, for
the daily section.
- Won 2006 Kansas City Association of Black Journalists award
for Most Outstanding Sports Feature for "Playing
Through," a
story about the integration of a public golf course in 1955.
- Has had four stories on A1.
- Has written numerous takeouts for football
and baseball special sections.
- Completed 10-story series on high school football during the
fall of 2006.
- Promoted to High School Enterprise Reporter in the fall of 2005
after four months in the Johnson County (Kansas) bureau.

- Covered general assignments (high schools, Rangers, colleges)
and worked a long-term front-page feature.
San Antonio Express-News (Summer '04)
- Covered general assignments (high schools, Olympics) and wrote

- Learned enterprise reporting and worked back-up on coverage
of the Devil Rays.

Michigan Daily (Jan. '01 to April '04)
- Managed a 40-person staff that produced
more Columbia Scholastic Press Association Gold Circle nominations
than any other in 2003-04.
- Covered the Michigan football team for two seasons.
- Received honorable mention in ESPN The Magazine's 2004 College
Journalism Awards for "Needing his mothers," a profile
of Michigan WR Jason Avant.
- Received CSPA Gold Circle nomination for "The Groundbreaker,"
a profile of then-Notre Dame football coach Tyrone Willingham.

Valuable Experiences
- During junior and senior year, covered every
Michigan football road contest and bowl game, which included stops
at Notre Dame Stadium, Oregon's Autzen Stadium, Ohio State's "Horseshoe"
and the Rose Bowl.
- Featured as weekly guest on the Michigan Talk Radio Network's
"Don Chiodo Show" as a Michigan football insider and
was guest on Cleveland, Ohio's WTAM 1100 AM.
- Has lived in eight states (Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Louisiana,
New York, Michigan, Florida and Missouri).
- Beginning in high school, maintained personal Web site on national
college football at www.ncaatop25.com, which featured a weekly
top 25 and column.
